Overview: Deep UltraViolet (DUV) Photolithography is the muscle behind the semiconductor industries’ drive to higher performance electronics allowing devices to be ever smaller and more powerful. LightSmyth Technologies has pioneered the application of DUV photolithography to photonic devices and established a portfolio of 35 allowed and 4 pending basic and broad patents that will allow Licensees to deploy high performance and unique products while enjoying protected lucrative margins. LightSmyth’s portfolio addresses powerful low-cost replicated, molded, and stamped, as well as lithographically fabricated, optical devices that enable the penetration of photonic signal transport to the level of everyday consumer devices. The portfolio also provides opportunity in the area of integrated lasers – including silicon – in providing resonator cavities needed for optimal laser action. A number of patents cover innovative and powerful approaches to optical interconnection systems based on photolithographically mastered diffractive structures. Yet another set of patents covers a color-bar-code based remote identification system, i.e. like bar coding which pervades retail, but able to identify items without physical proximity - up to a mile distant.
